Hello. I am David Pierce, a journalism student at George Mason University.  This blog is for my COMM 361 class with professor Steve Klein.

I currently intern at WRC-TV, the NBC station in Washington, DC.  At NBC 4, I shadow reporters and staffers, contribute stories to the nbcwashington.com website, as well as help in other areas of the station, such as at the assignment desk.

I have also reported for Broadside, George Mason University’s student newspaper in 2008.  While at Broadside, I extensively covered the 2008 presidential election, as well as other stories, such as those involving the campus police and student activity groups.

My dream is to become a television news reporter, and a news anchor down the road.

I have worked at a Target store as a sales floor team member from 2005-2006.  I was assigned, at one point, to every department in the store.  My major duties were to stock, sort and maintain my department.  In 2006 I was promoted to a department manager.  My responsibilities expanded to include helping management supervise sales floor team members, resetting my department with each season, processing defective items, as well as setting up weekly advertisement materials when needed.
